dice castles
a game by jared a. sorensen

# of Players:
2 or more players

Goal:
To be the first player to finish his or her castle

Materials:
Lots of similar-sized six-sided dice
A large, flat surface to play on

Setup:
At the start of the game, decide how many dice are to be used for each castle (usually between 10 and 20 dice).

Each player starts with that number of six-sided dice. Each player also gets his or her a "zone" of building space -- try and keep your dice within this zone.

How To Play:
Roll all of your dice at the same time.

Now, pair up dice of the same number and place them side-by-side OR stack dice onto pairs that add up to that die's number. the result will be a three-dimensional "castle" of dice.

A single die can always stack onto a single die of the same number.

Two dice of the same number can fit together end to end

Two dice side-by-side that add up to one die's value can be used as a base for that die (the die sits atop them in the middle).

A 4 can sit in the middle of a box of four 1's.

You can re-roll any of your dice at any time.

If your castle falls down before the end, use the dice (as they landed) and start over.

When your castle is finished, say "Done!"

Examples:
Here is a sample starting roll of 15 dice:
