Bryaalstook
Bryaalstook was once a wilderlands fortress, designed to act as a buffer between the civilized and savage races. Unfortunately, Bryaalstook was beseiged and overrun by a horde of orcish raiders. Rather than raze the fort, the orcs took it over and used it as a base camp from which to launch their various raids.

Several years after the fall of Bryaalstook, a crafty and enterprising half-orc captain named Yarik took control of the fort and began to rebuild it as a trading post of sorts. Within a few months, word spread and the orcish outpost became a kind of border-town where the savage races would gather to barter goods, drink and fight.

Orcs and half-orcs are a common sight in the camp, as are gnolls, goblinoid races and occassionally a lizardman (often carrying a sack of amber or other semi-precious stones dredged-up from the swamp). Men are less common, though the outpost has its share of human smugglers, thieves, bandits, gamblers and hired thugs. Outright murder is frowned upon, as is theft. But drunken brawls and sometimes lethal fights are common. Yarik sees the frequent violence as yet other reason for the more lawful races to avoid the trading post.
