Monster Garage (and its companion setting, "Little Tyrants") were articles for White Wolf Game Studio's Requiem Chronicler's Guide. It strips down the Storyteller System to a bare-bones chassis and jettisons all the crap that's unnecessary. I concentrated on the vices and virtues (the only interesting parts of the game) and gave it a kind of American Psycho meets Less Than Zero 80's serial killer chic.

It's my only freelance RPG project to date and probably the last. Factoid: this was going to be self-published as "Man, fucking vampires!" until WWGS contacted me about writing for them. I figured that MFV would be a nice way to subvert White Wolf's player base just a wee bit and accepted. I made $300 and the process (from writing the thing in a weekend to getting paid) took a little over a year. I'm omitting some juicy details.

Interesting note: If I self-published MFV as a 30-page stand-alone and charged$5 a copy, I'd earn the same amount in the same timespan after selling just 60 copies (that's roughly one sale a week). I'd also own the rights. Let that be a lesson to you! In truth, I only did it to have my work alongside Robin Laws' excellent "Blood Opera."

the farm is an experimental game dealing with the horror of imprisonment, terrible choices and the ruthless nature of survival. The players are prisoners ("residents") of "The Farm," a concentration camp-type environment where they're being kept until they're slaughtered for food. It ain't perfect but it's loaded with atmosphere and I'm especially proud of its Leader/Follower/Pig mechanics.

Tooth & Claw is an adventure roleplaying game where the characters are dinosaurs living on a vast super-continent. It uses die pools based on size and age and has lots of real science built into the dinosaur creation system. I'd like to revisit this one day as a lavishly-illustrated game for kids.

Squ3am is an exceptionally short parody of horror films. The stats are all attributes that most people would NOT want to possess. The title is a pun on the 90's "Scream" slasher film trilogy, a reference to one of the attributes ("Squeamishness") and a nod to the game's third, best and final version.

SCHISM is a mini-supplement for Sorcerer (a game from Adept Press) inspired by David Cronenberg's films. It replaces the sorcerers and demons of that game with mutants and psychic powers. Very grim and existentialist in nature. One of the first RPGs that I can think of that featured a definite "endgame" -- each character is doomed and part of character creation is to write down the circumstances of your character's future demise.

eight, my most ambitious project/greatest dissapointment, is included for posterity's sake as it has yet to be completed. The project was conceived in January, 1997 when I was just settling in to my new life in San Francisco. I consider it the first/lost MMT game (it is not available to the public so don't ask). Ten years is a long time to dream.
